Counselling in Frankston for Individuals and Couples

A safe place to pause, process and heal

Our motto is …
To move from survival mode into safe connection

AIMs

Our aim is to provide trauma-informed counselling support to individuals and couples in understanding how stress, trauma, and nervous system patterns shape their thoughts, emotions, and relationships.

Our aim is to integrate neuroscience and relational therapy to help our clients move beyond reactive patterns and develop regulation, resilience, and healthier connection.

When your mind won’t switch off, your body feels exhausted, or your relationship feels stuck…  you might notice burnout, anxiety or overwhelm, the same disagreements keep repeating, one shuts down while the other pushes for connection, or a growing sense of resentment or distance in your relationships.

These experiences are not random.

They are often signs that your nervous system is stuck in survival mode – when this happens, it impacts thoughts, emotions and relationships.

At Nepean Counselling Services, we offer counselling in Frankston for Individuals and Couples who want to understand why they feel the way they do – and learn how to create real, lasting change.

Our approach integrates trauma-informed therapy such as nervous system regulation, understanding the stress hormones (adrenaline and cortisol), anger and the amygdala, along with recognising intergenerational / childhood patterns.

This means we are not just managing symptoms, we are working with the underlying patterns that keep you feeling stuck.

We value the development of strong, collaborative therapeutic relationships. We believe that feeling safe, understood, and supported is essential for meaningful change.

Our principal Clinical Counsellor, Charlotte Hobbs, provides practical skills, psycho-education, and evidence-based strategies to help her clients to build their emotional regulation, healthier communication, and improve relationships.

At Nepean Counselling Services, we value diversity, equality, and the development of strong, collaborative therapeutic relationships. We believe that feeling safe, understood, and supported is essential for meaningful change.

Our aim is to help clients move beyond simply managing their difficulties by understanding how past experiences, the brain, and the nervous system influence emotions and behaviour. Through this process, clients can develop greater emotional awareness, regulation, and confidence in their ability to create positive and lasting change.

Our counsellors provide practical skills, psychoeducation, and evidence-based strategies to support emotional regulation, healthier communication, and overall wellbeing. This work is designed to improve daily functioning and help clients feel calmer, clearer, and more connected in their lives and relationships.
